ABSTRACT

In Indonesia, there is currently a hot discussion regarding chemtrails appearing in the skies in several cities. Many people attribute this to conspiracy theories, according to which these chemtrails cause the omicron-type of coronavirus disease 2019 (B.1.1.529). Through this paper, we hope that Indonesian citizens be able to think more positively and maintain their mental and physical health.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of mindfulness and relaxation techniques with self-help methods through web tutorials to overcome anxiety during the COVID-19 outbreak. Random control trial experiment performed by invite 418 Balinese Community (Age 15 years and above) to preliminary screening on anxiety sub-scale of 21-DASS. A total of 129 participants who met the random assignment criteria were then grouped into three groups namely experimental group 1 who will take self-help mindfulness exercises experimental group 2 who will participate in self-help relaxation exercises and waiting-list control group. The results of study shows that web-based self-help mindfulness and relaxation tutorials are effective for reducing anxiety levels. The comparison of the two also shows that mindfulness techniques are more effective than relaxation techniques. The results of this study have theoretical and practical implications in efforts to overcome anxiety disorders experienced during the COVID-19 outbreak.

ABSTRACT

A novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak began in Wuhan China has been named Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in December 2019. The first cases of COVID-19 were reported in Indonesia on 2 March 2020. All caused global panic fears anxiety around the Coronavirus have been especially amplified by social media. During Coronavirus outbreak disinformation and false reports have bombarded social media and stoked unfounded anxiety among Indonesian society. This research therefore aims to analyze the impact social media and anxiety level during COVID-19 outbreak in Indonesia. The procedure of this research is Indonesian citizens old were invited to participant online survey thought Survey Monkey platform. There are 1543 participant form aged 17 to 60 Year and form several province and region in Indonesia. The instrument using the DASS was to modify patients’ anxiety. Data analyzed using JASP (Jeffreys Amazing Statistics Program). The research showed that respondent’s anxiety in the very heaviness category with the highest anxiety when the duration of social media access more than 6 hours in a day. The anxiety base of aspect in watching/reading has a higher then Imagine and listening when access social media about Corona virus among Indonesia society. Social media use is complex reading or watching lots of news about Coronavirus has led to anxiety.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 affects every aspect of human life especially psychological aspect. Furthermore, adolescents experience difficulties because of the pandemic and therefore require extra change due to the occurring situation. In this situation adolescents felt stress from having to adjust to the unpredictable situation as well as anxiety from facing an uncertain situation. Meanwhile from the previous year the news has been updated daily concerning the number of deaths and positive cases. Teens are able to access news through the internet by listening watching or imagining the current situation. This study used Indonesian adolescent as the research subjects and was conducted online through survey Monkey platform. A total of 98 participants aged above 17 years were obtained from several provinces and region in Indonesia. In addition, the study used DASS as the instrument of research DASS while the data was analyzed using JASP. According to the results the stress and anxiety of adolescents during the COVID-19 outbreak are in the heavy and very heavy categories respectively indicating tremendous pressure is experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to describe the level of anxiety experienced by adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research uses descriptive quantitative research methods. The population in this study were adolescents aged 12 to 19 years with a sample of 139 people. The instrument used was a questionnaire about anxiety. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis. Based on the analysis of research data teenage anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic was in the high category at 54%.

ABSTRACT

This study analyzes the condition of stress and anxiety in late adulthood in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic based on demographics. The research used quantitative methods with an online survey by survey monkey program involved 669 respondents based on twelve ethnicities in Indonesia. The data of this research analysis by the Rasch analysis model. The results showed generally experienced stress and anxiety in the moderate category although some respondents also experienced stress and anxiety in mild and severe categories and only a small proportion was in the normal category. The need for continued treatment requires counselors’ psychologists and other relevant therapists.
